Terms of Use

Rules for using OCD Anchor — education and peer support, not a clinic

Home / Terms of Use

Please read this first

These Terms of Use govern the OCD Anchor website. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Not medical care

OCD Anchor shares education and lived-experience peer support. It does not diagnose OCD, treat illness, prescribe medicine, or replace a psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, or therapist. A self-check is not a clinical assessment.

Last updated: 13 October 2026

These terms describe the live product. They are written for users in India. Have a lawyer review them before you treat them as a finished company contract.

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and OCD Anchor, operated by Somnath Jana in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. They work together with our Privacy Policy. If you use the site on behalf of someone else, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for them.

2. What OCD Anchor is

The site currently offers:

  • Educational pages about OCD patterns and intrusive thoughts
  • A non-diagnostic self-check with suggested reading and next steps
  • A private journal on your device, with an option to save confirmed notes to your account
  • A seat in a founder-held peer circle, paid through Razorpay when the circle has a price
  • Pointers to how to look for real professional care in India

The site does not offer:

  • Diagnosis, treatment, ERP sessions, or emergency response
  • Checkout, card payments, or an in-app subscription
  • A therapist directory, appointment booking, or AI therapist chat
  • Medication advice

3. Accounts

You should be 18 or older to create an account, or have a parent or guardian’s consent if you are younger. Give accurate details. Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.

We may suspend or delete an account that is abusive, unsafe, fake, or used to attack the site. You can ask us to close your account by emailing ocdanchor@gmail.com.

4. Self-check

The self-check is a learning tool. Scores and type labels are not a DSM diagnosis, not medical advice, and not proof that you do or do not have OCD. Results can be wrong or incomplete. Use them to decide what to read next or whether to seek a qualified clinician — not as a substitute for one.

5. Private journal

The journal is a notepad, not therapy and not an AI companion. Notes stay on your device unless you confirm saving them to your account. You are responsible for what you write. Do not use the journal during a crisis instead of emergency help.

6. Peer circle waitlist

Joining the waitlist does not enrol you in a live group, does not guarantee a place, and does not reserve a free seat. When a circle has a price, you pay that amount through Razorpay on the circle page. The circle is lived-experience conversation, not group therapy. Do not give or ask for clinical advice, reassurance loops, or crisis counselling there.

7. Finding professional help

Pages that mention clinicians, ERP, or hospitals are general education. We do not verify or recommend a named therapist, and we do not book sessions. Check credentials yourself (for example RCI registration or a hospital department).

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the site to harm yourself or others, or to post illegal content
  • Scrape, attack, or overload the service
  • Impersonate a clinician or claim OCD Anchor diagnosed or treated you
  • Copy our pages to sell as your own course or clinic

Educational content is for personal learning. You may share links. You may not republish our material as a commercial product without written permission.

9. Content and ownership

Site text, layout, and branding belong to OCD Anchor unless we say otherwise. You keep rights in messages you send us; you give us permission to read them so we can reply and run the service.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The site is provided as-is. We work to keep information useful, but we do not warrant that it is complete, current, or right for you. OCD and related conditions need professional care. Decisions you make based on this site are yours.

To the fullest extent Indian law allows, OCD Anchor and the operator are not liable for indirect loss, or for distress or harm arising from use of educational content, the self-check, the journal, or third-party websites. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded (for example fraud).

This website cannot keep you safe in an emergency. Call 112, or contact AASRA on 9820466726 or iCall on 9152987821.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms when the product changes. The date at the top will change. If a change is significant, we will try to note it on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Kolkata, West Bengal have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have that cannot be waived.

12. Contact

Email ocdanchor@gmail.com. Postal: Gitanjali Park, Sonamukhi Bagpota Link Road, Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
